4 members of a family killed in Dinajpur road crash

DINAJPUR, Nov 22, 2025 (BSS) - Four members of a family were killed and five others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and an easy bike in front of the Wheat and Maize Research Institute in Sadar upazila here this afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Marjina Begum, 53, wife of Yakub Ali of Khanpur village in Sadar upazila, Sarjina Begum, 45, wife of Abdus Salam of the same village, and their school-going daughter Sadia Begum, 15, and Shimu Akhtar, 38, wife of Aminul Islam of Kaitar village of the upazila.

The accident took place around 3.30 pm on the Dinajpur-Panchagarh highway when a bus of ‘Nasib Paribahan’ collided head-on with an easy bike, leaving easy bike passengers two women and a schoolgirl dead on the spot and six others injured, said Dinajpur Sadar Kotwali Police Station Inspector Md. Moniruzzaman.

Another died on the way to the hospital.

The injured were taken to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital. Among the injured the condition of 3 is critical.
