KHULNA, Nov 27, 2025 (BSS) – Food Banking Khulna Welfare Organization, a local voluntary group, this afternoon distributed cooked food among nearly 1,500 underprivileged children, madrasa students and impoverished individuals at the Khulna District Stadium.

With financial support from the Australia-based charity organisation Truyu Club Charity, the beneficiaries were served cooked lunch.

Describing it as one of the largest community meals arranged for disadvantaged people in the city, organisers said similar initiatives will continue in the future.

Shahriar Masud Megh, president of Food Banking Khulna Welfare Organization, said the group has been distributing food to the needy since 2017. With support from donors and well-wishers, they provide cooked meals six days a week in different areas of the city, he added.

He further said that they plan to expand the programme in the coming days.

Valery Malinoveski, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Truyu Club Charity, said the organisation has long been running humanitarian programmes in Australia and other countries.
