GAZIPUR, Nov 27, 2025 (BSS) – A five-day 'Jor Ijtema', a preparatory event of the Bishwa Ijtema, will begin tomorrow from Fajr prayers on the bank of Turag river at Tongi here.

The Jor Ijtema will conclude before noon on Tuesday, (December 2).

Habibullah Raihan, media coordinator of Jor Ijtema organiser Shura-e-Nizam, Tabligh Jamaat Bangladesh (Jobayer faction), confirmed it.

He said that as part of the preparations for the Bishwa Ijtema, the Jor Ijtema is held every year about 40 days in advance. 

During this gathering, Tabligh members (Chillah observers) from home and abroad get the opportunity to review their yearly work and receive guidance from the seniors, he said. 

Seniors and companions of the Shura-e-Nizam group from various countries have already started assembling  at the tin-shed mosque in the north-eastern corner of the Ijtema ground. 

Tongi West Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC), Md. Harun-or-Rashid, said that the five-day Jor Ijtema of the followers of Jobayer is beginning tomorrow, Friday, after Fajr and it will conclude on December 2. 

Additional police forces will be deployed to ensure the security of the participating devotees, he said.
