'Voter Gari' campaign launched in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT, Jan 16, 2026 (BSS) - 'Voter Gari' campaign was inaugurated in the district today to encourage citizens to exercise their voting rights during the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election and Referendum 2026.

The 'Voter Gari' arrived at Gangni Union Parishad ground in Mollahat upazila to begin its campaign at 10:00 am. By noon, it had engaged local residents, emphasizing the importance of participating in the referendum and parliamentary elections.

The mobile unit also screened documentaries on historical and social issues, including the July Uprising, the contributions of July fighters, the murder of BUET student Abrar Fahad, and the Felani murder.

Additionally, five Public Service Videos (PSVs), jointly produced by the Ministry of Information and the Department of Mass Communication, highlighted the history of democracy, border killings, and social issues affecting youth and women.

Muinul Islam, deputy director of the Department of Mass Communication, Bagerhat along with Mollahat Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shyamananda Kundu, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sushmita Saha, and local residents attended the campaign.

On Saturday, it will move to Naldha, Lokpur, and Mulghar Union Parishads of Fakirhat upazila, covering Bagerhat constituency-1.
