Clothes and cash distributed among 2,000 cardholders in Habiganj

HABIGANJ, March 19, 2026 (BSS) - The whip of the National Parliament and 
Habiganj-3 constituency Alhaj GK Gaus distributed sarees, three-pieces, 
handkerchiefs and cash among about 2,000 cardholders in Habiganj from the 
Prime Minister's (PM's) Relief Fund on Thursday.
 
The distribution took place at Nimtala on the premises of the Deputy 
Commissioner's Office at 1 pm. The programme was chaired by Deputy 
Commissioner Abu Hasnat Mohammad Arefin and conducted by Additional Deputy 
Commissioner Mainul Haque.
 
Speaking as the chief guest, Whip GK Gaus said BNP's politics focuses on the 
welfare of the country and its people. He emphasized that the party is 
working to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of citizens and improve their 
standard of living.
 
The implementation of all promises made by BNP Chairman and Prime Minister 
Tarique Rahman before the elections has already begun, he said.

Among the initiatives, he mentioned the family card programme, which aims to 
ensure the daily needs of common people, and a canal digging programme 
expected to benefit agriculture, environment and the water management.
 
Whip GK Gaus expressed optimism that all developmental programmes promised by 
the BNP government will be implemented step by step, ensuring that common 
citizens enjoy their benefits.
 
Other officials from the administration and leaders of political parties 
attended the event.
