Woman held with 1,500 yaba tablets in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, March 30, 2026 (BSS)- Police have arrested a woman with 1,500 
pieces of yaba tablets from Baludia village under Charghat Police Station of 
the district.

The arrested woman was identified as Shapla Khatun, 29. The information was 
confirmed by police in a press release here on Monday. 

According to the release, acting on a tip-off, DB police conducted a drive at 
Shapla's house. During the operation, 1,500 yaba pills were recovered from a 
white polythene bag hidden in the right side of the pocket of her worn 
pajama. 

Police also stated that a case has been filed against Shapla and her husband, 
Russell, under the Narcotics Control Act at Charghat Police Station.
