CHATTOGRAM, April 13, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7) arrested two alleged drug traffickers with 17.4 kg of ganja during an anti-narcotics drive in Sitakunda.

The arrestees -- Md. Hasan (20) from Bhola and Md. Joni (21) from Cumilla -- were detained late Sunday night following a tip-off that drugs were being transported from Cumilla to Chattogram.

According to RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media) ARM Mozaffar Hossain, a team set up a temporary checkpoint in front of Fauzdarhat Cadet College under Sitakunda police station around 10:30 pm. A search of a suspected passenger bus led to the recovery of 17 kg 400 grams of ganja concealed on the two suspects, with an estimated value of Tk 1.74 lakh.

The detainees have been handed over to Sitakunda police station for further legal action.
