Seeds, fertilizers distributed among farmers in Sunamganj

SUNAMGANJ, April 16, 2026 (BSS) - Aush paddy seeds and chemical fertilizers were distributed among small and marginal farmers in Jagannathpur upazila of the district on Wednesday afternoon 

The distribution was held under the agricultural incentive programme for the Kharip-1 season of the 2025-26 fiscal year.

Member of Parliament for Sunamganj-3 Mohammad Koysor Ahmed officially inaugurated the programme as the chief guest at the Upazila Farmers Training Center.

Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Kausar Ahmed presided over the programme, while Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Barkat Ullah attended as a special guest.

Speaking at the event, MP Mohammad Koysor Ahmed highlighted the government's commitment to strengthening the agricultural sector. He emphasized that ensuring food security depends on the hard work of farmers and said that timely support with quality seeds and fertilizers would help boost productivity.

Under the programme, hundreds of local farmers received high-yielding Aush paddy seeds along with DAP and MOP fertilizers.
