Three held with drugs in Rangpur, Gaibandha

RANGPUR, April 16, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 in two separate drives seized smuggled drugs and arrested three presumed drug dealers from Rangpur and Gaibandha districts on Wednesday night.

 The seized drugs included 8.4 kg of ganja, 84 bottles of Phensedyl, 65 bottles of ESKuf syrups, said a press release signed by RAB-13's Senior Assistant Director (Media) and Additional Superintendent of Police Biplab Kumar Goswami this afternoon.

 On a tip off, a RAB-13 team from Rangpur Sadar Company in a raid arrested Amjad Hossain, 40, of Gaibandha and Azima Begum, 30, of Kurigram from village Khamar Fatepur under Mithapukur police station in Rangpur district at 7:30 pm.

 In an another drive team of the RAB-13's Gaibandha Camp arrested Md Mohsin, 44, of Chittagong with 84 bottles of Phensedyl and 65 bottles of ESKuf syrups from Palashbari point on the Rangpur-Dhaka highway under Palashbari police station in Gaibandha at 8:10 pm.
 
Two separate cases have been filed in these incidents.

The elite force handed over the arrested persons and seized drugs to Mithapukur police station in Rangpur and Palashbari police station in Gaibandha respectively for further legal actions, the release added.
