1,30,668 students participate in tomorrow’s SSC exams in CEB

CHATTOGRAM, April 20, 2026 (BSS): This year, a total of 130,668 students are taking part in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations under the Chattogram Education Board (CEB). 

Out of the total examinees, 56,325 are male and 74,343 are female students. 

Students from three departments - Science, Humanities, and Business Studies - are participating in the exams. The 2026 SSC exams are commencing on Tuesday, (April 21), starting with the Bangla first paper at 10 am and will continue till May 20.
 
Once the written exams are completed, the practical exams will be conducted according to the scheduled timetable. 
 
Students from 1,218 schools in the entire region will take part in the exams in  218 centres. The education board has taken strict measures to ensure a fair and cheat-free exams. 

All coaching centres will be closed during the exams to prevent question leaks and maintain security.
 
Additionally, 76 vigilance teams including 66 general and 10 special teams have been formed,. 
Candidates have been given important instructions, such as arriving at the centre at least 30 minutes before the examination, banning mobile phones, and using only approved calculators. 

They must fill the OMR sheet correctly, not fold the answer sheet, and submit each section separately.
 
 Board sources said only analogue watches are allowed during the examination. To enhance security, the police administration has imposed Section 144 within 200 yards of all examination centres. 
 
To ensure a smooth conduct of the 2026 -SSC exam, the CEB Examination Controller, Professor Dr. Parvez Sajjad Chowdhury, has issued an order that will be in effect one hour before the start of the examination until one hour after its conclusion. 

The order prohibits holding of meetings, processions, loud noises, carrying weapons, and unauthorized entry during this period.
 
Professor Dr. Parvez Sajjad Chowdhury stated that all necessary preparations have been made to ensure a fair and pleasant environment for the exams. 

Over one lakh students from 1,218 schools in 218 centres will be participating in the exams this year.
 
Additionally, a letter has been sent to the Chief Executive of Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) requesting uninterrupted power supply during the exams. 

The Education Board Secretary, Professor Zahirul Haque Swapan, signed the letter, urging the BPDB to take necessary measures for uninterrupted power supply from 10 am to 1 pm between April 21 and May 20.
