RAJSHAHI, April 25, 2026 (BSS)- The Annual General Meeting for the 2025-26 fiscal year of the Rajshahi District Potato and Raw Material Traders Cooperative Society Ltd. was held today at its own office in Takipur under Paba Upazila in the district.

The meeting emphasized protecting the interests of traders, maintaining stability in the market system, and making the cooperative’s activities more dynamic.
 
Paba Upazila Cooperative Officer Sultanul Islam was present as the chief guest. The meeting was presided over by the society’s president, Ahad Ali Shah. 

Vice President Shamsul Alam, General Secretary Mithu Ahmed, and Treasurer Abdus Salam also spoke.

In his speech as chief guest, Sultanul Islam said that potato and raw material traders serve as a vital part of the country’s food supply system. 

He emphasized transparency, accountability, and modern management in running cooperative activities.
 
In his presidential address, society president Ahad Ali Shah said that in the current market situation, there is no alternative to mutual unity for traders to survive. 
He noted that collective problem-solving through cooperatives is possible, and through this, traders can stand on a stronger foundation.

General Secretary Mithu Ahmed said that various plans have been undertaken to make the society’s activities more dynamic. 

At the meeting, several key decisions were unanimously adopted, including expanding the society’s activities, enrolling new members, providing training to members, and increasing transparency in market management. 

At the end of the meeting, the traders in attendance pledged to work unitedly to protect their interests and further strengthen the cooperative organization.
