Man killed in Habiganj road accident

HABIGANJ, May 11, 2026 (BSS) - A man was killed in a road accident in Bahubal upazila of the district on Monday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Moniruzzaman Faruk, 45, former general secretary of the Bahubal Upazila Jubo Dal and son of Ustar Mia, a resident of Shahpur village of the upazila.

 The accident took place on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway around 4.30 pm when a bus hit Faruk's motorcycle, leaving him dead on the spot.

Police later recovered the body and sent it to Habiganj Sadar Hospital morgue.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bahubal Police Station Md. Saiful Islam confirmed the incident.
