DHAKA, May 11, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Primary and Mass Education
Bobby Hajjaj today said the government is working to ensure equal educational
opportunities for children living in remote and hard-to-reach areas of the
country.

"Ensuring quality education is one of the government's key priorities
alongside infrastructure development. The government is continuing efforts to
bring modern and quality education to students in remote areas to ensure
equal opportunities for all," he said.

The state minister made the remarks while visiting government primary schools
in remote hilly areas of different upazilas in Bandarban district.

He added that further necessary initiatives would be taken to ensure that
students in the hill tracts do not fall behind.

During the visit, he spoke with students, teachers, guardians and local
residents and inquired about the overall condition of the schools and their
existing problems.

He observed infrastructural limitations, shortage of teachers, communication
difficulties, lack of pure drinking water, shortage of educational materials
and student dropout rates in remote areas.

Later, the state minister exchanged views with trainees undergoing Basic
Training for Primary Teachers (BTPT) at the Primary Teachers' Training
Institute in Bandarban.

"If teachers carry out classroom teaching responsibly, all students in the
country will grow up properly educated," he said addressing the trainees.
