Illegal gas lines disconnected, violators fined in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI, May 11, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court today conducted a drive against illegal Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited gas connections in several areas under Satirpara and Madhabdi police stations in Narsingdi Sadar upazila.

The operation, carried out from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, resulted in the disconnection of a number of illegal gas lines and the imposition of fines for various irregularities.

According to sources, authorities disconnected gas connections used illegally and also took action against consumers found using more burners than the number approved in their connections.

During the drive, the mobile court filed nine cases under the Bangladesh Gas Act, 2010, and imposed a total fine of Tk 173,000.

The operation was led by Nepal Kanti Deb, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate of the Deputy Commissioner's Office in Narsingdi.
