RAJSHAHI, May 11, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST) has been providing free legal assistance to the country's poor, helpless, and underprivileged people for a long time.

Alongside legal aid, the organization works to ensure justice by organizing various awareness meetings, training sessions, advocacy activities, and legal aid camps.

As part of this effort, a networking meeting was held in Rajshahi to make legal assistance easier and more dynamic by establishing an effective referral system between government and non-government organizations.

The meeting was organized by the Rajshahi Unit of BLAST today in the conference room of the NGO Forum for Public Health in the city.

The meeting was presided over by Advocate Samina Begum, Coordinator of BLAST Rajshahi Unit. Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Zafar Ahmed attended the programe  as the chief guest.

Additional Superintendent of Police ATM Mainul Islam, CMM Probation Officer Tariq Elahi, Deputy Superintendent of the Department of Social Services Rajshahi Aktari Khanam, and Assistant Director Mahbuba Sultana also spoke.

Speakers at the meeting said that a coordinated referral system between government and non-government institutions is crucial to provide prompt and effective support to marginalized communities, women, and victims of abuse.

Many victims face various complications because they are unaware of where to go or what kind of assistance is available.

This type of networking meeting will play an effective role in increasing mutual communication and quickly delivering necessary support to service seekers.

At the time, participants emphasized mutual cooperation and coordination to further accelerate legal aid activities.

Representatives from various government offices, law enforcement agencies, and non-government development organizations were present at the meeting.
