GAIBANDHA, May 13, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 12 onion farmers of Fulchhari upazila in the district received airflow machines from the Upazila Agriculture Office on Tuesday to help preserve onions for a longer period.

In this connection, a distribution function was held at the hall room of the Upazila Farmers' Training Centre with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mostafizur Rahman in the chair.

District Training Officer of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) Krishibid Md. Asaduzzaman attended the function as the chief guest.

Among others, Upazila Agriculture Officer Khandker Firoz Mahmud, Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Nipun Debnath and farmer Ashraf Uddin addressed the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, DTO Asaduzzaman said the airflow machines would enable farmers to preserve onions for a long time, allowing them to sell their produce at fair prices and avoid financial losses.

Under the government's agricultural incentive programme, 12 airflow machines, each having the capacity to preserve approximately 12 metric tonnes of onions, were distributed among the farmers.
