MANIKGANJ, May 28, 2026 (BSS) - Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival of the Muslim community, was celebrated in the district with festivity and religious fervour. 

The main Eid congregation was held at the Manikganj Shahid Miraj-Tapon Stadium this morning. 

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Nazmun Ara Sultana, Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Sarwar Alam, Manikganj District Council Administrator Advocate Jamilur Rashid Khan, leaders and activists of different political parties, and people from all walks of life joined the congregation. 

Mufti Rafiqul Islam, Imam and Khatib of Manikganj Collectorate Jame Mosque, led the prayers. 

The devotees prayed for peace, prosperity and wellbeing of the Muslim Ummah as well as the continued development of the country. 

On the occasion, improved meals were served at jails, Shishu Paribar and hospitals across the district. 

Sacrificial animals were slaughtered in different parts of the district with due religious enthusiasm.
