Mobile court fines restaurant, bakery in Narsingdi over irregularities

NARSINGDI, June 2, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court conducted drives in the Bouyakur and Boro Bazar areas of Narsingdi Sadar Upazila and fined a restaurant and a bakery a total of Tk 10,000 for various irregularities.

The drive was carried out on Tuesday afternoon under the supervision of the Additional District Magistrate by Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner K. M. Asadullah Ibne Anwar.

According to the mobile court, inspections were conducted at Haribal Mistanna Bhandar in the Bouyakur area and Haji Food Products bakery in Boro Bazar.

During the inspections, the court found evidence of food being prepared and stored in unhygienic conditions. It also detected food products being sold without proper manufacturing and expiry date labels.

As a result, two cases were filed under the Consumers' Rights Protection Act, 2009, and fines totaling Tk 10,000 were imposed and collected on the spot.

During the drive, the owners and authorities of the establishments were instructed to maintain proper hygiene standards, ensure accurate labeling of food products, and comply with relevant laws and regulations. They were also warned against repeating such violations in the future.
