KHULNA, June 4, 2026 (BSS) - The district administration has fixed the operating hours of shopping malls, markets and shops across Khulna as part of power-saving measures undertaken in line with the Prime Minister's directives.

Under the directive, all shopping malls, markets and shops in the district, including those in the metropolitan area and upazilas, will be allowed to remain open until 7pm.

Billboard lights must also be switched off by 7pm as well, according to the order.

The district administration further directed that all ongoing and upcoming fairs, trade fairs and cultural programmes across the district must conclude by same time.

It warned that legal action would be taken against individuals and business establishments violating the directive in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations.
