NAOGAON, June 20, 2026 (BSS) - Police arrested three suspected robbers in Raninagar upazila of the district while they were allegedly attempting to carry out a motorcycle robbery on the Raninagar-Atrai regional highway last night. 

Five other members of the gang managed to escape.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Raninagar Police Station Zakaria Mondol confirmed the incident to BSS this morning.

According to police, the robbers were arrested around 10:00 pm near Gona Mor in the upazila. The suspects were caught with the assistance of local residents after they allegedly chased a motorcycle rider with the intention of robbing him.

The arrested individuals area Faisal Hossain, 21, son of Sentu Hossain of Uttar Sardarpara village in Sadar upazila, Sana Mondol, 22, son of Firoz Mondol of Chatian village in Adamdighi upazila of Bogura district and Rabbi Hasan, 19, son of Mosidul Islam of the same village.

Police are currently interrogating the arrested suspects and have launched an operation to apprehend the five fugitives, the OC added.
