DHAKA, Sept 15, 2025 (BSS) - FactWatch, a Bangladesh-based independent fact-checking organization, has identified an edited video claiming that it is the footage of Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md Mahfuj Alam's video during his visit to the United Kingdom (UK).

According to a FactWatch investigation report, a video footage of the scene of Mahfuj Alam leaving a seminar organized at Sowes University in London is being circulated on social media. 

FactWatch investigation team found that the person in the car was not seen in the circulated video.

In this context, an edited photo of Mahfuj Alam is being circulated on Facebook in the video, the team added.

Through reverse image search, FactWatch found a similar photo of adviser Mahfuj Alam on Wikipedia. 

This photo is exactly the same as the edited photo circulated about Mahfuj Alam, it added.

From the description on Wikipedia, it is known that this photo of Mahfuj Alam has been on the internet since 2024. This photo of Mahfuj Alam was also used in various media reports in February this year.
