DHAKA, Sept 18, 2025 (BSS) - BanglaFact, the fact-checking and media research team of the Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB), has identified a video claiming reaction of United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk over attacks on Awami League (AL) which is false.

BanglaFact investigation team found that the misinformation began to spread after a video circulated on social media, alleging that Volker Turk had strongly reacted to an incident on September 12, when police arrested six Awami League workers during a protest in the capital.

However, BanglaFact's verification revealed that Volker Turk made no such comments regarding the Awami League procession incident.

 The video, which was widely shared, is actually from February 12, it added. 

On that date, the team mentioned that Turk was presenting a UN fact-finding report concerning human rights violations and torture during the July mass uprising.
