Women's Cricket tournament begins

DHAKA, Feb 13, 2025 (BSS) - Women's Cricket tournament was inaugurated today (Thursday) at Dhanmondi Sulatana Kamal Women's Sports Complex in the capital on occasion of Festival of Youth 2025, said a press release.

Bangladesh Cricket Board umpire Sathia Zakir Jessy and former national women's team cricketer Panna Ghosh inaugurated the two-day meet as the chief guest, presided by Bangladesh Women's Sports Association (BWSA) acting president Anjuman Ara Aksir.

BWSA acting general secretary engineer Firoza Karim Neli was also present in the opening ceremony.

Youth and Sports Secretary Rezaul Maksud Jahedi is expected to present in the closing ceremony as the chief guest tomorrow (Friday) and distribute the prizes.

National Sports Council Secretary Md Aminul Islam NDC and Md Nazmul Abedin Fahim, chairman cricket operation and women's wing and director of Bangladesh Cricket Board will also present in the closing ceremony as the special guests.

A total of sixty players of four teams are taking part in the tournament, organized by BWSA.
