DHAKA, Feb 18, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) in
boys' section and Rangamati district in girls' section emerged champions in
the national round of Youth Kabaddi competition that concluded at Paltan
ground in the capital on Tuesday.
On the occasion of Festival of Youth 2025, Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation
(BKF) organised the Youth Kabaddi competition.
In the boys' section final match, BKSP beat Bogura district by 42-20 points
after leading the first half by 18-12 points.
Rakibur Rahman of BKSP was adjudged the best player of the final while Tajul
Islam of the winning team was named the best player of the tournament.
Mohammad Shahid of Bogura named the best raider while Abu Hanif of the
champion team was adjudged the best catcher of the meet.
Earlier on way to the final, BKSP defeated Sylhet by 49-21 points after
dominating the first half by 18-0 points while Bogura beat Lalmonirhat by 39-
23 points after leading the first half by 16-9 points in their respective
semifinal matches.
Meanwhile, Rangamati beat Joypurhat by 23-19 points in the keenly contested
girls' section final match after dominating the first half by 13-10 points.
Earlier on way to the final, Rangamati beat Barishal by 27-26 points after
the regulation time ended by 21-21 points while Joypurhat defeated Narail by
39-36 points in tie breaker after the stipulated time was locked by 32-32
points in their respective girls' section semifinal matches.
Ruma Chakma of Rangamati was named the best player of the final while Rita
Chakma of the winning team was adjudged the best player of the tournament.
Nasrin Akter of Joypurhat and Ovi Chakma of Rangamati named as the best
raider and best catcher respectively in the competition.
Youth and Sports Secretary Rezaul Maksud Jahedi was present as the chief
guest in the final and distributed the prizes while National Sports Council
Secretary Aminul Islam was present as special guest.
BKF vice-presidents Inspector General of Prisons Brigadier General Syed Md
Motaher Hossain, Hafizur Rahman Khan and Abdullah Al Noman, Bangladesh Police
Additional IGP Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, BKF General Secretary SM Newaz Shohag and
Popular Life Insurance Managing Director BF Yousuf Ali were present,among
others,in the prize distribution ceremony.
