Mild to moderate cold wave forecasted over parts of northern region

DHAKA, Jan 19, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted that mild to moderate cold wave is sweeping over north-west and northern parts of the country.

"Mild to moderate cold wave is sweeping over the districts of Panchagarh and Kurigram and it may continue", according to met office forecast for the next 24 hours begins from 9am today.

Ridge of sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal and the adjoining western part of Bangladesh. Seasonal low lies over South Bay, extending its trough to North Bay today.

Weather may remain dry for the next 24 hours over the country begins from this morning.

Light to moderate fog may occur at places over the country from late night to morning.

Night and day temperature may fall by (1-2)oC over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 31.1 degrees Celsius at Teknaf and minimum temperature today was recorded 07.9 degrees Celsius at Tetulia.

The sun sets today at 05:35 pm and rises tomorrow at 06:43 am in the capital.
