Navy rescues 24 fishermen with trawler in Bay of Bengal

KHULNA, Nov 11, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Navy has rescued a fishing trawler along with 24 fishermen during its routine patrolling in the Bay of Bengal.
 
The Navy ship BNS Aparajeyo has rescued the fishing trawler ‘Madina-6’ along with 24 fishermen as the fishing trawler was floating on the Bay of Bengal due to its engine failure, said an ISPR press release today.
 
The patrolling Navy ship saw the fishing trawler which was floating nearly 29 miles away from Mongla Fairway Buoy. The Navy ship quickly rushed to the spot.
 
 As the engine of the fishing trawler was out of order, so it was floating in the deep sea and the fishermen could not make any communication as they had no necessary equipment, said the fishermen.
 
Later, the members of the naval forces rescued the fishermen and provided them necessary food, pure water and primary aid.
 
The fishermen went to sea from Kutubdia for fishing on October 29
 
The Navy ship brought yhe trawler and fishermen to Hironpoint adjacent of Sundarban after toeing it from 35 miles away of the sea.
 
The Navy handed over them to Coast Guard western zone for taking next actions.
