KHULNA, Jan 19, 2025 (BSS) - Khulna University (KU) at its campus here today
observed the 89th birth anniversary of founder of Bangladesh Nationalist
Party (BNP) Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.

To mark the day of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, the KU administration held
a doa mehfil at its central mosque after Zohr prayers.

Vice-chancellor Profeessor Rezaul Karim, Treasurer Prof Nurunnabi, Prof
Mahmudul Hassan and Prof Nazmus Sadat and Registrar Prof Mahbubur Rahman,
among others, were present at the doa mahfil.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Rezaul Karim said the Zia family faced severe
discrimination during the previous 17 years.

He mentioned that imprisonment of three times Prime Minister Begum Khaleda
Zia, driving out from the Mintu road residence and depriving her of improved
treatment are instances of ever-cruelty disparity.

Prof Rezaul Karim also paid profound tributes to Shaheed President Ziaur
Rahman, Bir Uttam, to mark his birth anniversary.

He also attributed that Ziaur Rahman was a great statesman, proclaimer of
independence, campaigner of multi-party democracy, commander of Z Force in
the Liberation War, and proponent of Bangladesh nationalist philosophy.
