Met office forecasts mild cold wave sweeping

DHAKA, Jan 24, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department today forecasted that mild cold wave is sweeping over north and northwestern part of the country and it may continue.

"Mild cold wave is sweeping over the districts of Sirajganj and Panchagarh and it may continue", said the forecast that begins from 9am today. 

Ridge of sub-continental high extends up to Bihar and adjoining area. Seasonal low lies over South Bay, extending its trough to North Bay.

Weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.

Moderate to thick fog may occur at places over the country during midnight to morning and it may continue till noon at places. Air navigation, inland river transport and road communication may disrupt temporarily due to thick fog.

Night and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 30.5 degree Celsius at Teknaf and minimum temperature today was recorded 09.6 degree Celsius at Baghabari.

The sunsets today at 05:39 pm and rises tomorrow at 06:42 am in the capital.
