Mild cold wave sweeps over Dinajpur and Panchagarh, may spread over some places

DHAKA, Jan 25, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department today forecasted that a mild cold wave is sweeping over the districts of Dinajpur and Panchagarh and it may spread over some places across the country. 

“Moderate to thick fog may occur at places over the country during midnight to morning and it may continue till noon at places. Air navigation, island river transport and road communications may be disrupted temporary due to thick fog,” said the Met office forecast issued here today.

Weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country. Night temperature may fall by 1-2 degree Celsius and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the release added.    

Ridge of sub-continental high extends up to Bihar and adjoining area. Seasonal low lies over the South Bay, extending its trough to North Bay.

Yesterday’s lowest temperature was recorded 9.2 degree Celsius at Dinajpur in Rangpur Division and today’s maximum temperature 31.2 degree Celsius was recorded at Teknaf in Chattogram Division.

The sunsets at 05.40 pm today and rises at 06.42 am tomorrow in the capital.
