EDOTCO unveils 5G ready tower operation centre

DHAKA, Jan 26, 2025 (BSS) – Connectivity infrastructure services company EDOTCO Bangladesh has launched the newly modernized 5G ready tower operation centre (TOC) here. 

This state-of-the-art facility will be a real-time monitoring hub, enabling seamless management of telecom towers nationwide with enhanced operational efficiency, connectivity, and energy optimization, said an EDOTCO press release today. 

The event was attended by BTRC Chairman Major General Md Emdadul Bari (retd),  Malaysian High Commissioner Mohd Shuhada Othman and EDOTCO Bangladesh Country Managing Director Sunil Issac.
 
Emdadul Bari said connectivity remains a cornerstone of socio-economic development in today’s rapidly evolving digital era. 

He said the ongoing expansion of connectivity is crucial alongside fostering an ecosystem that supports modern, technology-driven operational facilities. 

The BTRC chairman hoped that EDOTCO Bangladesh will continue to contribute meaningfully by adopting innovative strategies and operational excellence. 

These endeavours will play a significant role in delivering reliable and high-quality services to the telecom industry, supporting the collective goal of ensuring seamless connectivity for all, he added.

Mohd Shuhada Othman said over the last ten years, EDOTCO has spearheaded innovation and contributing to Bangladesh’s digital transformation agenda. 

With a young, tech-savvy population and growing digital economy, Bangladesh has immense potential to become a regional digital hub, said Shuhada, adding Malaysia through EDOTCO is committed to sharing expertise to fast-track Bangladesh’s connectivity goals.

Sunil Issac expressed his pride in the TOC, describing it as a milestone for the industry. 

He said this digital, data-driven facility optimizes tower operations, ensures network reliability, and supports Bangladesh’s digital transformation agenda. 

“We remain committed to empowering communities and driving economic progress through robust telecom infrastructure,” added Sunil.

EDOTCO Bangladesh, a subsidiary of Malaysia-based EDOTCO Group, integrates sustainability into its operations with innovations like Bamboo Towers and Hybrid Solar-Wind solutions. 

As the sixth-largest telecom tower company globally, EDOTCO continues to champion sustainable infrastructure and connectivity solutions, contributing to the nation's digital ambitions.
