RAJSHAHI, Jan 26, 2025 (BSS)- The admission committee of Rajshahi University (RU) today decided to abolish the ward quota in the first year (honours) 2024-2025 admission test of the university.

The decision was taken in two separate meetings of admission sub-committee and admission committee.

The ward quota reserves seats for children and wards of the university's employees.

Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies of the university Professor Dr Abu Sadeq Md. Kamruzzaman said the admission sub-committee decided in today's meeting not to keep the ward quota.

Besides, he said, the initial application date has been fixed and the fee has been reduced.

Since the ward quota is an institutional facility, a new committee has been formed to decide how this facility can be provided to the officers and employees, he said, adding the next decision will be taken following the recommendations of the new committee.
