ACC for showing ex-secretary Mohibul, another arrested in graft cases

DHAKA, Jan 28, 2025 (BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has pleaded to show Mohibul Haque, former senior secretary of Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, and Syed Abed Ali, former driver of Public Service Commission Chairman, arrested in separate graft cases.

Of the two, the ACC filed petition to show Mohibul arrested in three cases and Abed in one case filed over their involvement in alleged corruption. ACC assistant director SM Rashedul Hasan filed the plea against Mohibul, while assistant director Al Amin pleaded to show Abed arrested.

After holding hearing on the ACC pleas, Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib issued production warrant against the duo. The court ordered police to produce the two accused on February 3 to hold hearing on the arrest plea in their presence.

Both Mohibul Haque and Syed Abed Ali are behind the bars right now, after getting arrested in three cases and one case respectively.
