DMP Commissioner awards two traffic sergeants for bravery

DHAKA, Jan 28, 2025 (BSS) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) 
Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali today awarded two police sergeants 
working under the traffic division for showing intelligence and bravery 
in recovering contraband drugs and looted mobile phone set alongside 
performing their regular traffic duties. 

Sazzat presented the award money of Tk 20,000 in cash to Sergeant 
Bayzid Hossain and Sergeant Rana Pal each at the conference room of 
DMP Headquarters here, said a police press release. 

Highly praising the work of the sergeant in addition to performing 
regular traffic duties, the Commissioner said, “It is exemplary for other 
police members.” 

DMP Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) Md. Sarwar was present 
at the time.

The duo was awarded as they arrested two criminals in separate 
incidents at the city’s Rayerbagh and Paltan areas with over two 
kilograms of cannabis and a stolen mobile phone alongside performing 
their regular traffic duties.
