JU Social Sciences faculty hosts annual research project seminar

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, May 21, 2025 (BSS) - Social Sciences faculty of Jahangirnagar University (JU) hosted a seminar today to present summaries of its annual research projects.

The inauguration ceremony of the seminar began around 10.30am today at the teachers' lounge of the Social Sciences faculty. 

Speaking as the chief guest, JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan said, "JU administration will take effective measures to increase research grants for faculty members. We will subscribe to necessary institutional resources to facilitate research activities."

He hoped that the university administration would sign more Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with other universities to enhance collaboration in research and academic activities.

"I always encourage faculty members to publish your research in peer-reviewed journals," he added.

Acting Dean of the Social Sciences faculty Prof Dr Md Shamsul Alam presided over the event, while Pro-VC (Administration) Prof Dr Sohel Ahmed and Treasurer Prof Dr M Abdur Rab were present as special guests.
