South Korea keens to support education and research at RU

RAJSHAHI, May 21, 2025 (BSS)- South Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Park Young-sik today said his country is keen to support education and research at Rajshahi University (RU).

"We will also work for establishing bilateral cooperation between our country's equal standard institutions and RU," he said while sharing his views with RU Vice-chancellor Prof Saleh Hassan Naquib at the latter's office.

Korean envoy Park Young-sik also expressed his interests towards exchanging his country's language, education and cultural traditions with RU. 
 
Later, the ambassador presented a keynote paper in lecture titled "Bilateral Relations between Bangladesh and Korea" at the Senate Building talking about economic collaboration and future growth opportunities. 

"The quality of economic growth must be driven by innovation, knowledge and technology areas where foreign companies can make substantial contributions," he said.

The ambassador said: "Bangladesh needs to boost its manufacturing sector for rapid economic growth."

"Bangladesh should focus not just on the quantity, but the quality of its economic growth," he said.

RU Vice-chancellor Prof Saleh Hassan Naquib, Pro-vice-chancellors Prof Main Uddin and Farid Uddin Khan also spoke on the occasion.
