Railway asks officials to remain alert to make Eid journey smooth

DHAKA, May 22, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Railway today asked all its officials and employees to remain alert to ensure a smooth Eid journey for homebound passengers.

The instructions were given at a meeting held at Kamalapur Railway Station with Railways Ministry Secretary Md Fahimul Islam in the chair.
As a large number of passengers will leave Dhaka and other major cities to celebrate Eid with their near and dear ones, relevant officials and employees were instructed to give utmost priority to ensuring the safety and security of passengers as well as trains.

Director General of BR Md Afzal Hossain and senior officials were present at the meeting.

Instructions were also given to the authorities, especially members of the RNB (Railway Nirapatta Bahini), to be cautious so that no passenger can travel on trains without tickets.

The meeting also asked for measures to stop the black marketing of tickets, prevent passengers from travelling without tickets, and stop travel on roof of trains.

The meeting further stated that adequate mobile courts will be operated at important stations from June 1 to prevent irregularities.
