DHAKA, May 23, 2025 (BSS) - The authorities of Bangladesh Railway (BR) have urged passengers to purchase tickets only through online platforms or ticket counters.

"Ticket seekers are requested to buy tickets from online platforms and counters," said Rezaul Karim Siddiquee, senior information officer at the Ministry of Railways, today.

"There is no alternative method for purchasing advance train tickets for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha to be celebrated on June 7 or 8," he added.
Earlier, Director General of BR Md Afzal Hossain said that all advance train tickets are being sold online. However, any unsold tickets will be available at the counters during the final phase.

"To ensure smooth journeys, five pairs of special trains will run during the Eid period. Return tickets will go on sale from May 30," he said.
Ticket sales began on May 21 - at 8:00 am for western zone trains and at 2:00 pm for eastern zone trains. Around 33,315 seats are available on 43 intercity trains departing from Dhaka.

Each passenger can purchase up to four tickets per user ID. Additionally, 25 percent of the tickets will be sold as standing tickets at the counters.
