NATORE, July 7, 2025 (BSS) - National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam today said they will not accept any compromise in nation building process after ousting fascism from the country.

“We’ve ousted fascism through unity. Now, our unwavering focus is on building the nation. We will not compromise on that,” he said at a street rally at the Madrasa intersection here in the district town.

NCP has been holding a nationwide campaign titled “July March to Build the Nation” since July 1, demanding justice, reform, and a new constitution.

On the seventh day of the street march, today NCP’s leaders and activists arrived in Natore. Starting from Station Bazar in the town, they marched through the city and held the street rally.

Nahid said “We have clearly mentioned that the fall of a fascist government is not enough. This Bangladesh must be rebuilt through reform — a country where there will be democracy, equality, and justice.”

Highlighting that the dream of uprising is to build a corruption-free and discrimination-free nation, he said, “Many have stepped back from that dream after August 5. Just as we ousted fascism through unity, we can also build the nation with that same unity.”

Nahid said, “Before starting the programme in Natore, local leaders and activists reportedly faced obstacles."

“Those who tore down banners and obstructed programmes in the past have no place in this country. Don’t forget that,” he added.

Speaking about the July Declaration, he said, “We will not tolerate any procrastination or evasion regarding the July Declaration. We assert that fundamental reforms are essential for the country. We demand constitutional recognition of the mass uprising. The brave souls who took to the streets and gave their lives must be honored. That’s why the July Declaration and Charter are indispensable.”

Referring to the upcoming manifesto announcement at the Shaheed Minar on August 3, Nahid Islam said, “This manifesto will embody your economic, political, social, and cultural liberation. It will demonstrate the course for a new Bangladesh. We will remain steadfast in the streets, fighting for your rights. Our commitment to nation-building is unwavering.”
