KHULNA, July 26, 2025 (BSS) - Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A M M Nasir Uddin today voiced cautions against Artificial Intelligent (AI)based threat ahead of the upcoming general elections saying election commission (EC) remained alert to face such risk.

"Election commission (EC) remained alert against any type of AI-based threat that can affect the upcoming polls," he said while exchanging views with the newsmen before the meeting with Khulna divisional election officials at Khulna Regional Election Commissioner's Office.

The CEC said the EC's main challenge is to bring back confidence of the voters and to return them to the polling centers.

"We also see a big challenge to ensure women voters' participation in the elections," he said.

Nasir Uddin expressed his hope that the law enforcers will begin anti-crime operation countrywide to recover illegal arms and ammunitions and to contain criminal activities before the election.

"We are working to present a free, fair, impartial, and credible election to the people," he said.

"Our activities will be shown in broad daylight; nothing could be staged in the darkness. If we fail to conduct it (free, fair election), the future Bangladesh will ask questions," he added.

High-ranking election officials, including additional regional election officer, senior district and upazila-level election officials, were present during the view-exchange.

Later, the CEC joined the meeting with the election officials here as the chief guest.
