Young generation to lead country’s future economic activities: BRUR VC

RANGPUR, Sept 11, 2025 (BSS) – Vice-Chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Prof Dr Md. Showkat Ali has said today's young generation will have to lead the economic activities of the country in the future. 
 
“Therefore, the young generation should be aware of banking, investment and savings from their student life,” he said. 
 
The Vice-chancellor was addressing as the chief guest a seminar on ’Financial Literacy and Banking’ organised by Dhaka Bank Limited for students at BRUR in collaboration with the Department of Finance and Banking of the university. 
 
Welcoming this initiative of Dhaka Bank Limited, Prof Dr Md Showkat Ali said that this seminar organized by the bank is a timely step. 
 
“Undoubtedly, this arrangement will help the students of the department concerned to acquire necessary theoretical knowledge if they want to learn about financial literacy and banking,” he said. 
 
With Head of the Department of Finance and Banking of the University Prof Dr Md Nur Alam Siddique in the chair, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies of the university Prof Md Ferdous Rahman was present as the special guest at the event. 
 
Rangpur Branch Manager of Dhaka Bank Limited and its First Vice-President (FVP) Md Manjur Morshed and its Senior Assistant Vice-President (SAVP) of the Retail Banking Division Md Saifur Rahman were present, among others. 
 
Teachers and students of the Department of Finance and Banking participated in the seminar.
