DHAKA, March 17, 2026 (BSS) - In a move aimed at enhancing traffic control and reducing congestion, police have begun using portable signal lights in traffic management across key areas.

These innovative signal lights are locally manufactured at a low cost and are designed to be easily portable, making them suitable for deployment on any road, according to a DMP press release.

The Highway Police have initially taken the lead in installing these devices to maintain order and streamline vehicle movement.

Officials say the introduction of portable signal lights marks a significant step toward modernizing traffic management.

Their flexibility allows authorities to quickly respond to changing traffic conditions, particularly in busy or high-risk areas.

Police sources expressed optimism that the initiative will contribute positively to easing congestion and improving overall road discipline.
