
DHAKA, Mar 21, 2026 (BSS) - Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir today said that the government will ensure the rights of every citizen to fulfil the expectations of the people and continue its efforts to take the country to the highest level of development.
“Every citizen’s rights will be ensured to meet public expectations. Our efforts are ongoing to take the country to the ultimate goal of development,” he said.
The commerce minister made the remarks while talking to journalists after offering Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at the historic Shahi Eidgah ground in Sylhet this morning.
Khandaker Abdul Muktadir said the people elected the government with sky-high expectations and it is working day and night under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to fulfil those hopes and aspirations, said a Commerce Ministry press release.
Mentioning that controlling commodity prices is one of the major priorities of the present government, he said the government has already been able to keep prices within people’s purchasing capacity.
“We are committed to moving the country forward in a united manner under the Prime Minister’s dynamic leadership,” he added.
Among others, Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury, Sylhet-3 lawmaker MA Malek, Sylhet City Corporation Administrator Abdul Quaiyum Chowdhury, Sunamganj Zila Parishad Administrator Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury, Sylhet city BNP Acting President Rezaul Hasan Qais Lodi, former BNP city president Nasim Hossain, general secretary Imdad Hossain Chowdhury, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Vice-Chairman Badruzzaman Selim and senior government officials were present at the Eid congregation.
