16 fresh dengue cases detected overnight

DHAKA, April 07, 2026 (BSS) - Health officials today said they recorded 16 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours.

"We recorded 16 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts till 8 am today," a spokesman of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) informed.

"Out of the 16 fresh cases, eight were hospitalised in Barishal division, two in Chattogram division, five in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and one in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year claimed four lives and inflicted 1,999 people.

The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country.

Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
