Man held for attempting to forge seal of Home Minister's Office in Dhaka

DHAKA, April 7, 2026 (BSS) - Police have detained a man on charges of attempting to forge an official seal of the Home Minister's office in the capital.

The detainee, identified as Md Abu Taiyab, 43, was arrested on Tuesday by Shahbagh Police Station.

According to police sources, acting on a tip-off, officers conducted a raid at a seal-making shop named JR & Brothers, located at Meherba Plaza on Topkhana Road in Dhaka, where they apprehended the suspect.

Police said the accused was allegedly trying to create a fake official seal linked to the Home Minister's office.

Legal action against him is currently underway at Shahbagh Police Station. The suspect's home district is Cox's Bazar, under Chakaria upazila. Further investigation is ongoing.
