Best possible services must be ensured for Hajj pilgrims: Kaikobad

DHAKA, April 7, 2026 (BSS) - Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad said the Hajj of 2026 is approaching and all related activities must be carried out in a smooth and well-organized manner.

He said the best possible services must be ensured for Hajj pilgrims.

The Minister made these remarks at a view-exchange meeting with the executive committee of the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAB) on Hajj and Umrah management, held this morning at the conference room of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

He said that all necessary activities for proper Hajj management must be completed as quickly as possible, adding that everyone concerned should work to make the Hajj journey easy and hassle-free.

He further said that special attention must be given so that pilgrims do not suffer any hardship. Referring to the successful management of the previous Hajj season, he expressed hope that this year’s Hajj operations would also be conducted in an equally smooth and efficient manner.

He urged all concerned to remain sincere and committed in this regard.

Earlier, HAB Secretary General Farid Ahmed Mazumder presented several recommendations and observations regarding Hajj and Umrah management and also placed some demands on behalf of the organization.

The Minister listened attentively to the proposals and assured that necessary steps would be taken in accordance with existing rules. He also stated that no actions would be taken outside the legal framework.

Religious Affairs Secretary Munshi Alauddin Al Azad, Additional Secretary (Hajj) Md Ayatul Islam, Additional Secretary (Budget and Grant) Md Fazlur Rahman, Joint Secretary (Hajj) Dr Manzurul Haque, HAB President Syed Golam Sarwar, along with senior officials of the ministry and members of the HAB executive committee, were present at the meeting.
