Health Minister visits injured physician at National Cancer Hospital

DHAKA, April 20, 2026 (BSS) - Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Husain today visited the National Cancer Hospital to see its Deputy Director Dr. Ahmed Hossain, who was injured in an attack by miscreants.

The minister went to the hospital this evening and enquired about the physical condition of the injured physician.

Dr. Ahmed Hossain (50), Deputy Director of the National Cancer Hospital, was attacked while returning home after office hours.

According to sources, 2-3 unidentified assailants stabbed him in his right hand and back in an alley behind the old BRAC University campus on that afternoon and fled the scene.

He is currently undergoing treatment at the National Cancer Hospital.
