PM inaugurates Bogura Press Club building, mosque reconstruction work

BOGURA, April 20, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today inaugurated the newly constructed building of Bogura Press Club and the reconstruction work of a mosque established on his own initiative.

After completing various programmes throughout the day, the premier inaugurated the multi-storied building of Bogura Press Club around 7:15pm. 

After opening the building, he said, "I inaugurated a new building for (our) journalist brothers. The work that we started many years ago, we have been able to complete that work ourselves". 

"I hope the journalist brothers of Bogura will present various issues of Bogura before the nation so that we can do something good for Bogura," the Prime Minister added.

Responding to the demand of journalists regarding establishing a branch of Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB) in Bogura, he said, "You should apply following to government rules. Then I will see what I can do, InshaAllah". 

Later, Tarique Rahman planted a sapling of Sonalu flower at the Press Club premises.

State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, lawmakers Md Rezaul Karim Badsha, Golam Mohammad Siraj and Kazi Rafiqul Islam, Dainik Karatoa Editor Mozammel Haque Lalu, Bogura Press Club President Rezaul Hasan Ranu and General Secretary Kalam Azad were present on the occasion.

Earlier, the Prime Minister inaugurated the reconstruction work of Baitur Rahman Mosque, which he established on his own initiative.
