DHAKA, April 21, 2026 (BSS) – Four young leaders from Bangladesh have been recognised in the QECT 100 Young Leaders Awards 2026, marking the centenary of Queen Elizabeth II and celebrating youth-driven impact across the Commonwealth.

The Queen Elizabeth II Commonwealth Trust (QECT) announced the awardees, honouring 100 young changemakers selected from across Commonwealth countries through a highly competitive process.

The Bangladeshi awardees are Shah Rafayat Chowdhury of Footsteps Bangladesh, Munia Islam Mozumder of Teach for Bangladesh, Imran Hamin of Farm Solution BD, and Md. Rezwanul Islam Shuvo of Eco Sentinels Bangladesh, said a press release, issued by the British High Commission here.

The awards recognised outstanding initiatives addressing key challenges in areas including education and employability, environment, food and agriculture, health, and social inclusion.

The initiative commemorates what would have been the 100th birth anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II, reflecting her enduring commitment to empowering young people to strengthen communities and shape the future.

According to QECT, the awardees will participate in a series of capacity-building programmes, global networking opportunities and curated engagements aimed at amplifying their impact.
British High Commission to Bangladesh Sarah Cooke congratulated the Bangladeshi recipients, saying their work reflects shared Commonwealth values of inclusion and innovation.

“Their achievements honour Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s enduring belief in the power of young people to build a better future,” she said.
