SSC exam begins in Rajshahi Board with 99pc attendance

RAJSHAHI, April 21, 2026 (BSS) - The 2026 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations began today with the Bangla First Paper examination.
On the first day, the exams were held in a festive and peaceful environment, with nearly 99 percent student attendance.

According to sources at the Rajshahi Education Board, a total of 149,575 candidates were registered under the board this year.
Of them, 147,816 students from 2,709 institutions appeared in the first day's examination at 274 centres across eight districts, while 1,759 candidates were absent.

Board authorities said no student was expelled on the first day of the examination. No untoward incidents, complications, or irregularities were reported from anywhere.

Overall, the examination was conducted in a peaceful environment.
