Govt seeks volunteer partners for 25 cr tree plantation programme

DHAKA, April 21, 2026 (BSS) - In a move to deliver on its electoral promise, 
the government has launched a call for institutions to voluntarily partner in 
a nationwide programme to plant 25 crore trees within five years.

Under this programme, institutions will be considered eligible as volunteer 
partners if they meet the following criteria:

Social organizations, autonomous or private institutions, and NGOs with prior 
experience in tree plantation and maintenance are eligible to participate.

Institutions skilled in developing GIS, remote sensing-integrated web map-
based dashboards and apps for monitoring tree plantation activities.

Interested institutions are requested to submit their concept papers via 
email to [email protected] by April 25.
